Binghamton, NY, Firefighter Killed in Fire

Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham announced that one firefighter was dead and two others were injured.

Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham announced on his Facebook page that one firefighter was killed and two others injured while battling a fire in downtown Binghamton last night.

According to posts from area departments, mayday calls were made reporting multiple firefighters were trapped.

According to Kraham's post, “The firefighter was transported from the scene to Wilson Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two other Binghamton firefighters were injured. They are being treated at Wilson Hospital and are currently in stable condition.”

“This is an unspeakable tragedy, and our hearts are broken for the firefighter’s family. I ask us to all say a prayer for the entire Binghamton Fire Department community and our city,” Kraham said in a release.
